In a world of chaos and confusion our souls are crying out for peace but so many have no concept on how to receive it when it is given. Maybe this is you, maybe this is your loved one. Hang tight my friend. Let’s set our attention on the one who brings us peace, not the one who robs us of it. Your anxious heart and racing thoughts will soon cease. You are on your way to a good day.
According to Biblehub.com, the Greek translation of peace is eiréné. The root is thought to mean “to join or set at one again” while its everyday use inferred quietness or rest.

Anxious thoughts often rob us of our ability to connect with not only our friends and family, but God. Just as they were designed to do. It is imperative during these difficult times of focus that you take the much needed time to get centered and quiet. Maybe that means you say no to something planned. Maybe that means you have to excuse yourself from the meeting, gathering or time with friends. Whatever it is, it is worth the sacrifice in order to receive the quietness so freely given.
The scary part is, most go getters are afraid of the quietness. Is it because we have been trained to believe that by being quiet or still or in rest that we are lazy or unmotivated? Even Jesus took time to get away from the crowd and find rest in the mountaintop or garden to commune with his Father in Heaven (John 17).
Good things come from rest. From a mental health stand point, professionals around the globe are crying out “SELF CARE” with good reason. Our nervous system can only handle so much. Detail after detail, plan after plan, crisis after crisis, forces our mind and body to slowly shut down.
But GOD!
He is able to take our anxious thoughts and turn them into good things. He is able to take our powerful prayers and deliver peace – as a beautifully wrapped gift – into our hearts and minds.
Over and over you see hospitality exemplified in the Bible. The Holy Spirit dwells within this gifting of time and space. The Peace of God lives in this place of generosity. He is generous. He wants to give to those who seek Him.
The Almighty God is the example of the gift of hospitality. He created a garden full of everything anyone would ever need for Adam and Eve…why? Because he loves them. He wanted to provide everything they would ever need. The same God loves you. He will provide everything you will every need.
The gift of peace feels like a millstone around our necks, choking us because we are so used to the chaos of the world that peace feels like a punishment. It is the absence of chaos and your nervous system trying to correct itself. It has grown so used to the flight or fight response that when you are in neither of these phases, your mind and brain lack the release of hormones.
These hormones are directly related to fear and survival. When you are constantly in this state of mind you will struggle to connect to God. And He knows it.

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3
If all you can do is call upon the name of Jesus, do it…and quiet yourself and wait for his response. Let the peace that surpasses all understanding wash over you. Short prayers work as effectively as long prayers. God knows your heart. The Holy Spirit groans for you when you have no words. You are on the right path…
I promise you, he will show up. Slow down my friend. Enjoy the rest. Get ready for restful sleep. Put your lavender oils on and pray in Jesus name. Get a good night’s sleep.
In the morning light, let Him love you. Don’t fear the tears…let them fall. For each and every one of them is counted by God. You are that precious.

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:1
Rebuke and reject the anxious thoughts that seek to drive back into your life. Speak good things, speak the word over your situation. Find Bible verses that speak life over your situation. Rebuke the death of your thoughts. They have no place in the heart of a woman after Gods heart.
God’s word is infallible – meaning it simple cannot fail. He ways are beyond our own understanding. He is the God of peace.

He is a gracious father who gives generously…”Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27
Living thoughtfully and generously towards others to ensure they feel welcome, included and loved. Receive it today.
This is how you and I build community. We engage and delight in selflessness in order to build up the body of Christ. In this day and age many are suspicious of the free gift of love through hospitality.
Do it anyway. With a word of caution…do not be a doormat! Family members may try and challenge your new boundaries. Hold firm, do not let your mind race. Hang on to what was given to you. At the end of a busy day it will be easy to revert back to the same ways, but hold tight onto God’s righteous right hand. Any person of faith is going to understand and respect your boundary.
The unfailing love of Jesus Christ will bring you better sleep and a good night’s rest.
Peace of mind comes with the arrival of a new day…a beautiful new beginning. See you get to decide what you think about and what you don’t.

You have a choice to believe in the Lord who gives strength to his people or not. You see, “The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.” (Psalm 29:11).

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
I pray you feel his presence tonight. I pray that in the middle of the night angels come to minister over you. Good times are coming. Fun times with family and loved ones are around the corner. The name of Jesus Christ is above every name. Even anxiety and depression must bow to it. At the end of the day, Satan knows he has lost, and he will do everything in his power to steal from you your quiet time with God. Because he knows how powerful night prayer can be.
Let’s pray together….
Father God, I humbly come before you today to thank you for being who you are. For being faithful to me when I have not been faithful to you. Thank you for providing this time alone with you and making a way, when there seems to be no way. I am blessed to be called a child of God. You have been a good shepherd to me in my times in the valley and in the mountain. I reject and rebuke all thoughts of anxiety and fear in the mighty name of Jesus. I plead the blood of Jesus over my mind and my heart. May I be walking testimony to the power of your healing works in my mind and heart. Lord, give me the opportunity to share the good news of your son Jesus Christ as I heal. Send your angels to minister to me in times of rest. Send your angels to feed me in times of hunger and thirst. Thank you Abba for peaceful sleep that will allow me rest as you desire for me to do. Let me be aware of any distractions that take me away from you. Give me strength and discipline to turn away from them Lord. Bless my family and friends Lord. May they be understanding and gracious as I heal. May I learn and teach the gift of your great love and hospitality so that others may receive it as well.
In Jesus name I pray….Amen
Until next time my friend, I pray you live in peace …. Court
