Comforting Bible Verses About Acceptance

Hi Friend,

I wanted to remind you of just how accepted you are. As you sit and breathe, know this…no matter how messy your life is today. No matter how hard you screwed up yesterday or today…you are accepted and fully loved by God.

So, pour yourself a drink, sit down and relax. God’s got it.

To know you are accepted by God, is incredibly powerful. At minimum, it boosts your self esteem and allows you to be a better person.

The good news is you don’t have to earn God’s acceptance. If you are having a hard time in accepting this truth, I am praying for a softening of your spirit in the name of Jesus Christ.

The best way to begin is to seek the Kingdom of God by reading the word of God. God’s word aligns you with your identity in Christ Jesus. I live to write to share of God’s love. The Holy Bible is full of scriptures about the unconditional love of God. Nothing is more powerful that accepting that love for oneself. As a child of God, I encourage you to accept and believe in your inheritance of love, grace, mercy and forgiveness.

In the New Testament Jesus, and largely the Apostle Paul, share of this free gift of God. The son of man left Heaven to live a life of pain on earth as a living sacrifice in order of ryou to have GOOD things. Nothing about his walk on earth came from selfish ambition. It came from the full acceptance of who Jesus is and who is Heavenly Father is.

Acceptance according Strongs Concordance acceptance means to be acceptable, delight, desire, favor, good pleasure, own, self, voluntary will

This takes on a whole new meaning when researching the Bible for verses about acceptance. How does God accept you? What does it mean for him to delight in you? How important is it that you know and understand how much God desires you?

ACCEPT

In John 5:41 Jesus says this, “I do not accept glory from human beings, but I know you. I know that you do not have a love of God in your hearts. I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.”

Ouch, harsh words from Jesus. Yet the rebuke says much. He does not want glory for himself, because he humbly came to serve at His Father’s will. He accepted the life of man, at a cost of great hardship in order to share the love of God and expose the delight God the Father has for his children. He was correct that God accepted many and desired to accept more. Most of whom society deemed undeserving, dirty and poor; yet to God they were greatly loved, created for a purpose, and accepted into the Kingdom of Heaven for believing in Jesus Christ, the son of God.

DELIGHT

As Children of God, you are accepted into the family of God. You are promised eternal life and all the benefits as an heir to the kingdom of Heaven. Our Father in heaven loves you immensely and more powerfully than any human ever could. As his child he also accepts you for who you are, as you are right now. There is no need to clean up for Him to come over…He simply wants to spend time with you. Just like your closest friend you don’t need to clean up for. There is no pretense, no facade of perfection, just simple acceptance for who you are.

The following verses express how God delights in you:

  • Zephaniah 3:17, “The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness.”
  • Psalm 147:11, “The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love.

As much as He delights in you, God our Father wants us to delight in Him. Just like any healthy relationship there is a give and a take. Each person has to pour into the other in order to have a fullness in their relationship. According to Psalm 37:4 in delighting in the Lord, he will give you the desires of your heart.

  • Psalm 70:4, “May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you! May those who love your salvation say evermore, ‘God is great!’”
  • Psalm 63:3, “Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.”

DESIRE

It’s a powerful word… desire. Many would say it is human nature. However, attached to physical desire, lust, greed and jealousy, it can quickly lead down a windy, dangerous path of sexual immorality and sin. Thankfully, God in the riches of his kindness, sees us not as a weak person, but as works of righteousness. The more we desire Him, the more we look like Him. He wants our own house to mimic his. That is why Jesus said to pray, they kingdom come, on earth as it is in heaven.

However, to desire the Lord, allows you to walk by the Spirit, and such worldly desires will be less and less appealing. This meditation of my heart will bring a new desire to do the right thing. To have the love of God in your heart will cause you to desire more and more of things that only God can provide. The fruits of the spirit will begin to be evident in your life. You will operate in patience, joy, love, peace, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control despite your past.

God is able to do all things, when you surrender to Him.

The best part of acceptance is being able to receive and believe for his pleasure about you. On your own accord, you will begin to experience a higher level of existing. The glory of God will uplift you and begin to make you shine brighter than you have before. This light is needed in the world today. No many can do it on their own. Each of us, in our different places of society have the opportunity to operate in the gift of the Holy Spirit and allow others a glimpse of God. The promise of everlasting life is for every one.

My prayer for you today

‘“The Lord bless you

and keep you;

the Lord make his face shine on you

and be gracious to you;

the Lord turn his face toward you

and give you peace.”’

“So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.” – Numbers 6:24-27

In Jesus Name…Amen

Until next time…Court
