Embracing Genuine Righteousness: Unveiling the Power of God’s Love and Discerning Self Righteousness

This past week was a doozy!
I helped my husband start his pop up events and catering business with a grand slam of a starter evening! But in the process, I had to correct myself and reflect on my attitude to make sure I was not being self righteous in my attitude. Starting any business is stressful…add in a husband / business partner and things get spicy!
When things get heated and I feel overwhelmed, I tend to overthink end up being very self critical. Can you relate?
In order to cope and reset so I can keep peace in the household, I went into prayer and worship. In my prayer and reflection, God reminded me of two things…he has a plan and purpose for my life (Jeremiah 29:11) and they are plans for good, not evil…so I can relax.
Second, we are to love His righteousness, His holiness, not the world and our own self righteousness. So often today we hear to fight for ourselves and be bold, but are are being bold for the right reasons?
